Abstract
The purpose of this study explores the various and complex personal phenomena experienced by the elderly diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment due to memory loss in daily life. And it reveals the essential semantic structure of universal phenomena.
To this end, data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with 4 elderly people using a day care center and 3 elderly people using senior centers. The interviewed data were analyzed according to Giorgi¡¯s phenomenological research method.
As a result of the study, the experience of memory loss due to memory disorder is ¡®Memory that is lost¡¯, ¡®Memory to catch hold and re-establish¡¯, ¡®Emotional memory to fill daily life¡¯, and ¡®Memory for hope for the future¡¯¡¯. It has 4 components, 18 sub-components and 108 semantic units.
The four components are cyclically repeated in daily life, and the essential semantic structure is ¡°I¡¯m making myself remembering the brain that separates every day¡±.
In this study, the actual pre-stage cognitive impairment of Alzheimer¡¯s degree has an impact on the quality of life in a super-aged society, and the situation of memory loss, reduction and maintenance of memory is more mature, as well as family and social relationships. This is meaningful in developing a memory test strip for early detection and prevention of dementia from the perspective of care recipients in the care practice settings.
